You will be able to decide which is best for you, whether a trick or a real, permanent and effortless solution. Now you can switch up your bedding without the stress and you will no longer wonder how to use a duvet cover.

How to put on a duvet cover - Beddley

Duvets are a popular bedding option for their comfort and warmth. Many people love the cozy feeling of snuggling under a duvet, but they often dread the tedious task of changing the duvet cover.  It's a struggle many of us have experienced - trying to put on a duvet cover without getting tangled up in the fabric or frustrated with the process.

The process of putting on a duvet cover can be time-consuming and frustrating, and it can be particularly challenging for those with larger or heavier duvets. Yet, it poses an even bigger challenge for those with limited mobility, back pain, shoulder problems, arthritis and other limitations. In fact, most people find using the regular duvet cover to be a troubling experience.

Despite the hassle of changing duvet covers, people still love duvets for their softness and insulation. Besides, one cannot overlook the benefits of using a duvet cover. Changing a duvet cover is essential for maintaining good hygiene and keeping the duvet clean for a fresh bed. It protects your duvet from dirt, the elements and wear, while allowing you to change the look of your bedding easily and inexpensively. With the right duvet cover or the right techniques, putting on a duvet cover can be a breeze. Read this article to the end and we guarantee you’ll no longer ask how to put on a duvet cover.

    1. The Burrito Method

Also known as the “California Roll” method, the burrito method entails the following steps:

    1. Turn your duvet cover inside out and lay it flat on the bed with the opening at the foot of the bed.
    2. Lay your duvet (aka comforter by some people) on top of the duvet cover, making sure the corners of the duvet align with the corners of the duvet cover.
    3. Starting at the head of the bed, tightly roll both the duvet and the duvet cover together towards the foot of the bed, like a burrito.
    4. Once you've rolled the duvet and the cover together, grab the opening of the duvet cover, pull the duvet through the opening, continuing to roll the cover down the duvet until it is completely covered.
    5. Shake the duvet cover and duvet until they are both evenly distributed.
    6. Close the opening of the duvet cover with the fasteners present.

    2. The Traditional Method

This is a common technique people use. Follow these steps:

    1. Lay your duvet (aka comforter by some people) on your bed.
    2. Turn your duvet cover inside out and place it on top of the duvet, making sure the corners align and the opening is at the foot of the bed.
    3. Tie all four corners of the duvet to the cover if it there are any fasteners present.
    4. Grab the top corners of the duvet cover from the inside, taking the corners of the duvet with the cover, and flip it right side out.
    5. Lift the cover and slide it down on top of the duvet, adjusting as you go.
    6. Apply the bottom ties to the duvet if your cover has them.
    7. Give your duvet cover a good shake ensuring the duvet is spread out evenly and neatly inside.

    3. The Stuffing Method

The stuffing method is preferred by some. Here are the steps:

    1. Lay the duvet cover flat on your bed with the opening facing you.
    2. Grab the corners of the duvet and stuff them into the opening of the duvet cover. Make sure that the corners of the duvet align with the corners of the duvet cover.
    3. Once you've stuffed the corners of the duvet into the cover, grab the top of the duvet and lift it up.
    4. Shake the duvet and the cover together until the duvet cover falls over the duvet. Else, just manually pull the duvet cover over the duvet.
    5. Once the duvet cover is over the duvet, shake it again to ensure the duvet fits nicely inside and is not bunched up.

Understandably, each of the above three methods has long been considered an easy way to put on duvet cover. These and other methods have been employed over the decades but they are oftentimes even more cumbersome and time-consuming to implement than just stuffing the insert into the duvet cover and wrestling with it. By the time most people are done getting the duvet cover on, it’s time for a shower and nap! That leaves many still asking how to put on a duvet cover.

This is by far the easiest way to put on a duvet cover.
